Most tungsten used in the production of special steels. Widely used high-speed steel containing 9% to 24% tungsten, 3.8% to 4.6% chromium, 1% to 5% vanadium, 4% to 7% of cobalt, 0.7% to 1.5% carbon. Characteristics of high speed steel is tempered at a high temperature to strengthen (700 ~ 800 °C), can automatically quenched in air, and therefore, until the 600 ~ 650 °C it maintains high hardness and wear resistance. Alloy tool steel tungsten steel containing 0.8% -1.2% tungsten; chromium tungsten silicon steel containing 2% to 2.7% tungsten; tungsten chromium steel containing from 2% to 9% tungsten; chromium tungsten manganese steel containing 0.5% 1.6% tungsten. Tungsten steel used in the manufacture of various tools: such as drills, milling cutters, drawing dies, the female and male mold, air support tools and other parts. Tungsten magnet containing 5.2% to 6.2% tungsten, 0.68% and 0.78% carbon, 0.3% to 0.5% chromium steel permanent magnets. Tungsten carbide has a high hardness, wear resistance and refractory properties. The alloy contains 85% to 95% of the tungsten carbide and 5% to 14% cobalt, cobalt as a binder metal, which has the necessary strength of the alloy. Some alloys are mainly used for processing steel further contains titanium, tantalum and niobium carbides. All of these alloys are produced by powder metallurgy. When heated to 1000 ~ 1100 °C, they still have a high hardness and wear resistance. Carbide cutting tools are far more than the best tool steel cutting tools. Carbide is mainly used for cutting tools, mining tools, and drawing dies and so on.
