The molten steel from EAF or BOF is treated in the refining process and then cast by continuous caster into billets, slabs, and blooms of various sizes as desired.
Different refining technologies, such as LF, CAS-OB, RH, AOD and VOD, etc., can be chosen according to the types of steel making process (BOF or EAF) and achieve the desired product inventory. The product list, which is currently in vogue, includes clean steel, deep punching steel, extra-low-carbon steel, high quality alloy steel and stainless steel, etc.
MEPC can undertake the refining project on EPC basis and refining technology related renovation / expansion of ladles / furnaces of upto 150 ton capacity.
