1.Introduction

. Highly Penetrative Bitumen Primer  is a low viscosity, highly penetrative asphalt primer with special additives to improve the bonding of bitumious materials to the substrate.

2. Characteristics

  Highly Penetrative Bitumen Primer penetrates deep into the porous substrates and provides a firm base surface for bonding of the applied bituminous materials.

3. Application

Widely used as a prime coating on concrete masonry, cementitious screeds, metallic substrates etc. prior to application or installation of bituminous materials, buil up roofing, bituminous membranes etc.

Coverage rate varies from 0.15 to 0.2kg per square meter depending on method of application, surface properties and conditions of substrate.

Surface preparation

• Concrete surface must be clean, sound and free from oil, grease, dirt, dust, and loose particles, it is desirable to dampen the surface the with water if the concrete or blockwork is very dry.
• Metal surfaces must be wire brushed to remove loose rust, mill scale etc. Wipe off oil and grease from the surface with suitable solvent.

Method of application

• The primer should be well applied as a thin coat by brush, roller or by spraying.
• Allow to air dry until touch dry.
