3 Stages purification:

Three grades of filtration (ceramic filter, softening resin, active carbon filter)
Ceramic filter: with aperture of 0.2 micrometer, the ceramic filter effectively removes bacteria, algae, iron/rust, sand, blood worm, colloids and suspended solids from raw water.
Food-grade softening resin: reduce raw water hardness and eliminates scale, Hg, thallium, arsenic, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and other heavy metals.
High-quality coconut husk active carbon filter: removes benzene, chlorine residue, odors, farm chemicals, pesticides, and other chemicals from raw water.

Cautions
This filter unit contains highly efficient filtering and purifying units, and thus filters water more slowly. The purified water will drip out from the filter element bottom. Make sure the upper basin is fully filled with water, because greater pressure brings faster flow.
Please use tap water satisfying related national standards. Be careful: too much rust and foreign substances will narrow the service life of filter element and slow down water flow rate.
Keep the product in cool shadowy place - away from direct sunshine or near heat sources.
The first few basins of filtered water may carry active carbon powder. Discharge 3 or 4 basins of water to clean the carbon powder out of the unit before first use.
A yellowed ceramic filter during service indicates poor raw water quality and requires no washing. Clean the ceramic filter with 3M or Scotchbrite scour pad if the outlet flow slows down. To guarantee the drinking water quality, wash the plastic parts of the filter unit regularly.
Discharge and refill the water inside the barrel is the purifier has not been used for over 1 week.
In case of slow outlet flow even after cleaning the ceramic filter (due to clogged micro pores of the ceramic), immerse the ceramic membrane in clean water for 10 minutes to make it wet both inside and outside. If flow from ceramic filter ceases after cleaning attempts, a new ceramic filter is needed.

Maintenance
Ceramic filter element (Service life of the ceramic filter element depends on local water quality and frequency of washing). When flow of filtered water slows: Lightly scrub outer ceramic surface with 3M or Scotchbrite type scour pad and rinse with clean tap water. It is recommended to replace the ceramic filter element once per year for household users.
Carbon filter element (Service life of the carbon filter element depends on local water quality). Soak the carbon element in clean water before installation. For the utmost in water quality, an ozone sterilizing machine can be used to sterilize the carbon filter element at regular intervals (optional) - check with your water filter supplier for more details. It is recommended to replace the carbon filter element once per year for household users.
