The leather used in our products is full vegetable tanned leather with a smooth finish. Producing leather in this fashion is extremely time-consuming and difficult. We are committed to producing vegetable tanned leather using artisanal techniques.

The smooth leather is fine-grained and the surface is dyed by hand. After applying oil to bring out its smoothness, the leather is milled (a rubbing process), embossed, and finally given a wax treatment.

Because this leather is hand-dyed, it has a transparent quality and will develop a beautiful patina over time. Again, this technique is extremely labor and time intensive.

Although leather developed in this fashion will show wear and tear and fade in areas, this is part of the appeal of its natural aging. In fact, with each use, past wear will fade, and natural oils in your hands, water (rain), and other factors will allow it to develop a beautiful gloss and patina. As time passes, a unique sheen and softness emerge, producing truly smooth and supple leather. The reverse side features untanned leather.

We change the size of our cardboard packaging to meet the size of each order.

Manufacturing is done at a partner factory in China.

Goods are inspected for any needles or defects at an inspection center in Japan.

The final inspection is performed before shipment at the Tokyo headquarters.

Goods are stored in Tokyo or at a warehouse near Tokyo.
