Successful operation of steel casting depends on Nozzle Filling Compound being used for Slide Gate operation. It is a critical component on which depends the entire casting of Steel. Ladle or the tundish nozzle opening needs to be 100 % free opening, without lancing in each and every heat. Stakes are high. No caster can afford to lose a heat, just because the ladle/tundish nozzle did not open for poor quality of Nozzle Filling Compound.

 

Over a period of time, United Metallurgical Products has developed, a flawless combination of Nozzle Filling Compounds, meant for Steel Ladles with different Nozzle diameter / Well Block geometry and for Tundish applications. To meet the demanding conditions, the nozzle filling compound has sufficient refractoriness at high temperature to prevent sintering of the particles and excellent flowability for free movement of the compound when the slide gate is opened. This ensures good nozzle opening performance and minimises the instances of Oxygen lancing for opening the slide gate nozzle
