Introduction-
Olivine sand also known as Dunite in India, as a foundry and refractory aggregate, it is noted for its high fusion point, low uniform thermal expansion and its remarkable ability to resist fracture from thermal shock, Olivine has been famous for years in producing excellent non ferrous castings and alloy castings. Olivine Sand is widely consumed in Refractory industries for producing basic refractory products along with dead burnt magnesite, steel plant operating with electric arc furnace. Olivine sand is used as Taphole Filling material.
General Description-

Color - Grayish Sandy odourless material, which is free flowing.It is insoluble in water and any common organic salt.

Applications-
Foundry Sand, to manufacturemanganese steel casting and to form alloys.
Refractory industries uses olivine sand for forming bricks and shapes, as it has a high melting point, moderate thermal expansion and stable crystalline structure.
EBT Taphole Filler for Electric Arc Furnace.
Suitable Abrasive media for sand blasting and waterjet Cutting.
As slag conditioner and sinter mix for continuous operation blast furnace.
