The small solar lighting kits MSL04-05-PIR can deliver an astonishing 360 activations of 1 minute once fully charged. This commercial grade solar led security light has a remote PIR motion sensor which can be mounted between 20cm and 5m from the light. 2013 Security Product of the Year - DIY Week.

2. How it works
During the day the MSL04-05-PIR Solar LED Sensor Light's 10 watt solar panel charges its internal 4Ah Lead acid battery giving it the power it needs to light after dark.
After dark the MSL04-05-PIR will activate as soon as it detects motion. The time the MSL04-05-PIR stays lit for is adjustable from 5 seconds to 10 minute. At dawn the MSL04-05-PIR stops activating and starts charging.
3. Installation
Find the best location for your solar panel within 5 metres of where you plan to have the floodlight. The location needs to be as south facing as possible and free from light obstructions such as buildings, trees, fences, bushes or the shadows that these create.

--What is "remote PIR" ?--
Many customers have asked us to make a solar security light that has a separate PIR motion sensor giving greater freedom of positioning. The MSL motion sensor comes with 5m of cable which enables it to be neatly mounted close to the light.
--How waterproof is it?--
The MSL04-05-PIR Solar LED Sensor Light is IP56 rated.
Waterproofing is rated by the IP (International Protection) system which consists of the letters IP followed by two digits. The first digit after IP ranks a products protection against solid objects. The second digit after the IP rates a products ability to protect against liquids.
The MSL04-05-PIR Solar LED Sensor Light is IP56 rated making it our most waterproof light yet. IP56 means the MSL04-05-PIR is protected against dust - limited ingress (no harmful deposit) and protected against strong jets of water e.g. for use on shipdecks - limited ingress permitted.

9. What is the difference between the MSL04-05-PIR Solar LED Sensor Light and the MSL04-05 Solar Floodlight?
There are 2 key differences between the two lights.
1. Function
The MSL04-05-PIR is a motion sensor activated light which only comes on when it detects motion. The MSL04-05 Solar Floodlight stays on constantly for up to 10 hours a night.
2. Brightness
The MSL04-05-PIR Solar LED security Light has 108 LED bulbs wheras the MSL04-05 Solar Floodlight has 54 LED bulbs. The MSL04-05-PIR is 50% brighter than the MSL04-05 Solar Floodlight, but it can not operate for anywhere near as long.
