ZG270-500 Steel+Rare Earth Slag Thimble
We can produce a wide range of Metallurgy slag thimble(Steel Castings), with good quality and fast delivery at best price. The materials used comply with ASTM, DIN, BS, JIS, NF etc. standard. Those casting cinder pot can be supplied in the following conditions:
- Heat treatment: Normalized, Normalized and Tempered, Quenched and Tempered
- Machining: Rough machined, Semi-finished machined, Finished machined
- Non-Destructive Testing: Magnetic Particle Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Penetrant Testing
1. Material
Cast Steel with differing chemical compositions but defined mechanical properties play a dominant role in the manufacture of slag pots. Standard specifications of Cast Steel for slag pots could be found below:

3. Delivery condition: normalised
Note regarding the material selection: due to obvious advantages in terms of service life and maintenance cost-efficiency, cast steel has been becoming more significant in the slag pot construction over the last years versus both materials, spheroidal cast-iron and lamellar graphite cast-iron. In contrast to other materials, cast steel offers excellent repair possibilities as it is well-suited to welding.
4. Quality assurance
The fabrication route is governed by the provisions of the implemented Quality System ISO 9001: 2000.
The standard documentation ensures the full traceability of every process step:
- Manufacturer test certificates according to DIN EN 10.204 § 3.1 including chemical composition, mechanical properties and non-destructive examination;
- Dimensional check supported with a “as-built“ sketch;
- Record of the quality heat treatment;

1. Anti-rust oil on product before package;
2. Inlayer: water proof cloth;
3. Middle layer: thickness of 10mm rudder cloth;
4. Outer layer: high quality waterproof cloth or with wooden plate;
5. Fixed with channel and steel bars
