 2.Silicon carbide is very hard, with excellent thermal conductivity, as a semiconductor and high temperature resistant to oxidation.

3.As abrasive, abrasive tools can be used to such as grinding wheels, whetstones, grinding head, sand tile etc.

4.Carborundum is also used widely as a refractory material or metallurgical additive.
