Description:
1.Silicon carbide is a man made material manufactured through heating silica sand and carbon to high temperatures in the Acheson furnace technique.
2.Silicon carbide is produced at high temperature in an electric resistance type furnace with quarts sand and petroleum coke as its main raw materials.
3.Silicon Carbide has a high thermal conductivity, a low coefficient of thermal expansion, is thermal shock and abrasion resistant and has strength at
high temperatures.
4.Silicon carbide is an extremely hard material , is chemically inert and does not melt.
Application:
1.It is used for making bonded and coated abrasive tools, grinding metal and non-metal materials of lower tensile strength, such as gray cast iron yellow bronze,aluminum, stone, leather, rubber, etc.
2.It is mainly used as deoxidizer in steelmaking process,both used as the main raw material of
the silicon resin industry.
3.The use of silicon carbide with corrosion sistant, high temperature strength, good thermal
conductivity, impact resistance
4.It also can be made top grade refractories material.
5. It is mainly used to made sandpaper, abrasive belt,Whetstone,grinding blocks, grinding head,
grinding paste and photovoltaic products.
6.silicon carbide can be used for a variety of smelting furnace lining, the component of high-temperature furnaces, silicon carbide plate, silicon carbide crucible.
