IPL Hair Reduction
IPL devices, such as the SmoothCool HR/SR, convert light energy to heat energy to treat unwanted hair and skin pigments.
IPL devices can use photothermolysis to remove unwanted hair, correct skin issues like age spots or rosacea. Treatment
with an IPL device affords the treatment provider a greater wavelength spectrum than standard lasers
IPL Hair Reduction can handle any type of skin. IPL devices can also be customized based on hair color, skin color, and
hair depth. When using IPL Hair Reduction, the surrounding skin does not have the potential to get injured.
Unlike other types of hair removal that use just a single light wavelength, IPL devices use a full spectrum of light wavelengths.
This allows treatment of larger skin portions at a time so that areas such as the legs or back can be treated in a fraction of the
time it takes standard lasers for hair removal. IPL devices also can alter the light beam intensity on the fly with various filters,
which helps clear up complexions and improve skin texture.
Theory
Advanced technologies, bipolar radio frequency+IPL, can be used together or separately, the perfect result can be expected,
the RF energy can penetrate into the dermis and the heat directly deliveries to the hair follicle integrating with the IPL energy,
good treatment result will show you in short time, Additionally, the cooling system inside is effective on the epidermis,
this can greatly reduce pain in the process of treatment.
What do IPL treatments feel like?
As the name implies, the IPL hand-piece cools and soothes as it glides along your skin. When the pulse of lights delivered, some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. No local anesthesia or pain medication
is typically required, however some patients may prefer to use a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated.
How many treatments will I need? Most areas require 3-6 treatments,
but the number of IPL treatments you may require for optimal long-term benefits depends on various factors such as
your hair thickness, the area treated, and your hair growth cycle. Interestingly, not all hairs are actively growing at the same time,
but actually go through three distinct phases; growth, regression, and resting. IPL systems work by disabling the hair that is principally
in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional
treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area.
