Indole butyric acid (IBA) is an Auxin Class plant growth regulator (PGR), used to promote and accelerate root formation of plant clippings and to reduce transplant shock of nonfood ornamental nursery stock. IBA is also used on fruit and vegetable crops, field crops and ornamental turf to promote growth development of flowers and fruit and to increase crop yields. It is the most effective and widely used rooting hormone in the world.

(auxin) Indole butyric acid IBA serves as signaling molecules necessary for development of plant organs and coordination of growth.

(auxin) Indole butyric acid IBA plays a key role in both root and shoot development.

(auxin) Indole butyric acid IBA also induces sugar and mineral accumulation at the site of application
