Brief history of natural brassinolide:
Natural brassinolide (or Brassinosteroids, BRs) are a class of polyhydroxysteroids that have been recognized as a sixth class of plant hormones. These were first explored nearly 40 years ago, when promotion was reported in stem elongation and cell division by the treatment of organic extracts of rapeseed (Brassica napus) pollen.
Chengdu Newsun began the research on Brassinosteroids in 1985. It successfully isolated six most active compounds from Brassinosteroids, and realized commercial production. Now it has been the largest manufacturer and exporter of natural brassinolide technical and formulation products in China.
Physical & chemical characteristics:
Appearance: White to offwhite powder
Melting point: 274centigrade
Solubility(20-25centigrade): Solubility in water: 5mg/l; Easily soluble in methanol, alcohol.
Poisoning symptoms: No report about human poisoning.
First aid: No specific antidote known. Treat symptoms.
Toxicological data:
Acute oral in rat: LD50>5000mg/kg
Acute dermal in rat: LD50>5000mg/kg
