The balanced flow meter provides 10 times the accuracy of standard orifice-based fluid flow meters,
resulting in significant cost-savings to industries such as gas and oil refinery. Further development
made this invention a promising technology in many commercial applications.
The design of Balanced Flow Meter is based on Bernoulli Equation and Energy Conservation to realize
Reynolds number matching and momentum balance. The technology is to optimize the design of a
multi-hole throttling and flow rectifying element, using that as a DP sensor to
utilize its excellent performance in process flow. The sizes and distribution of holes are based on
Reynolds number matching, Momentum equilibrium and test results. Calculation of the holes (Function Holes)
are also computed by QMC/MIMT. When fluid is running through function holes,
the flow is rectified and eddy turbulence is minimized, forming an ideal flow field. The measurement element
detects the value of stable D/P, and the signal is transit by secondary instruments. The D/P sensor, temperature
conversion and flow display unit forms the D/P flow meter.
Traditional orifice meter has issues of large permanent pressure loss. The eddy turbulence consumed much potential,
which caused reduction in accuracy and repeatability of measurement.
The Balanced Flow Meter minimizes eddy turbulence and greatly improved the accuracy. The measured value is very
approaching real condition. This will greatly improve the process optimization. And operation cost is also reduced.

Real Integrated Flow Meter
A+K balanced flow meter integrates balanced throttling element, pressure tapping device, tapping pipe, 3-valve manifold and transmitter into
one single device, which reduce the installation dimensions, simplify installation and eliminate installation leakage points.
High Accuracy and High Repeatability
Excellent measurement accuracy and repeatability can be guaranteed through precision manufacturing process and advanced testing measures.
Higher measurement accuracy can be realized through real flow calibration.
Minimum Straight Pipe Requirement
Through balancing, adjusting and stabilizing flow field, the A+K balanced flow meter can reduce a lot of necessary straight pipe and thus save
installation cost and is much easy for process pipeline layout.
Low Permanent Pressure Loss
The multi-hole and symmetrical design of A+K balanced flow meter effectively reduces vortex formation and turbulent skin friction, as well as
kinetic energy loss, therefore reduces the permanent pressure loss and saves operation cost.
Wide Measurement Range
Measurement range of balanced flow meter is improved vastly to 10:1 even to more with suitable parameters.
Wide Application
Can be applied to measure gas, fluid and steam. Effectively reduce rate of gasification when measure liquid gas, even can measure bidirectional flow.

Throttling element of A+K balanced flow meter is design by wear-resistant technology, which makes its life cycle 5 times longer than traditional

Power Supply
The meter normally needs 25V DC, operates from 10.5 to 45V DC without load. For Ex ia and other intrinsically safe approvals, the power supply must not exceed 30V DC.
Output Signal
AKR: Two-wire, 4 to 20mA with HART communication, current signal represents flow rate.
AKM: Two-wire, 4 to 20mA with HART communication, current signal represents compensated flow rate. HART communication provides digital process variable. Particular
protocol will be provided as per user requirements.
Load Limitations
The formula below applies to output of 4-20mA with HART. A minimum resistance of 250Ω is required for HART communications.

*For balanced flow meters, β=d/D, where d is the equivalent diameter of multiple holes. The hole quantity, β and throttling element thickness are to be calculated and determined
by manufacturer.

Process connection complies with ANSI B16.5 or DIN flange standards. Other standards should be clarified in ordering information.
Pressure Rating and Limit
Integrated type: Maximum Pressure <Class 600 or PN100, in accordance with the flange pressure standard in ANSI B16.5 or DIN EN 1092-1.
Separate type: Maximum Pressure <Class 2500 or PN250, in accordance with the flange pressure standard in ANSI B16.5 or DIN EN 1092-1.

The main body of flow meter contains flanges to connect with the process pipeline. The flow meter is assembled with complete pressure tapping device and transmitter, which is easy for installation and maintenance.
