Bulk blue indicating silica gel beads
Blue indicating silica gel is a highly useful variety of desiccant, available in a range of mesh sizes to meet the needs of its many possible uses in industry. It does not react with chemicals, and is tasteless, odorless, non-toxic, and non-corrosive. It is extremely porous and can adsorb a large amount of water due to its vast amount of internal surface area. Since it is non-deliquescent, its size and shape always remain the same, and there are no chemical reactions or byproducts that result from the adsorption process. Even when saturated with water, the gel stays free-flowing, and dry. What makes blue indicating silica gel particularly useful is that, as it adsorbs water, it changes color, going from blue to purple to pink as the moisture is adsorbed.
Blue indicating silica gel, granular or beaded, has a great affinity for water. It will adsorb water more readily than most other liquids and gases, although it is also capable of adsorbing gasoline-range hydrocarbons, HC1, sulfur and nitrogen compounds, CO2, C12, and many other substances. Silica gel is commonly used across a broad range of industries for a variety of applications that call for a high-capacity desiccant or a selective adsorbent.
Standard blue silica gel is referred to as being indicating. As it adsorbs moisture it remains physically unchanged. vailable loose in bulk packs or packed in sachets.
Applications: Used for absorption for moisture in order to keep proper humidity.It is used widely in the storage of garments,bags,food,medicines,toys,woodworks,instruments,meters,electrical appliances and computers.
