type 3A Molecular Sieve Dessicant has a pore size of 3A or 3 angstrom. Any molecule larger than 3A will not be able to be adsorbed. Mole Sieve is an alkali metal alumino-silicate, the potassium form of the type A crystal structure. 3 Angstrom is created when part of the sodium ions of the 4 Angstrom sieve are replaced by potassium ions. Molecular Sieve Dessicant Regeneration
Absorbking 3A Zeolite Molecular sieve desiccant can be regenerated by either heating in the case of thermal swing processes; or by lowering the pressure in the case of pressure swing processes.
To remove moisture from a 3A molecular sieve desiccant, a temperature of 200-230°C is required. A properly regenerated molecular sieve can give moisture dew points below -100°C.
The outlet concentrations on a pressure swing process will depend on the gas present, and on the conditions of the process.
