1.Basic introduction

For gauging the creepage and clearance distances in dead state between parts under voltage in the operating conditions as well as between touchable metal pieces and parts under voltage in the operating conditions. e. g. in installation material, switchgears, plugs, socket-outlets and electric appliances
according to IEC and CEE Publications,EN Standards,VDE Specifications.
It is used to determine the shortest path between two conductive parts, or between a conductive part and the bounding surface of the equipment, measured along the surface of the insulation, with specifications made according to the requirements.
