Product Description

 

Wind Turbines Slewing Bearing  contains, normally, the yaw bearing, blade bearing, transmission system bearing(spindle bearing and gearbox bearing). Currently HaoYang concerntrate on providing clients with the yaw bearing and blade bearing. The yaw bearing installed at the interconnnecting part of the tower and the cockpit, while balde bearing installed on the joint part between each blade root and the wheel hub. Every wind power generator has a set of yaw bearing and  three blade bearings.

 

The service life of the wind driven generator is usually not less than 20 years, the maintenance cost is very high, this request the yaw bearing and the blade bearing of life cannot be less than twenty years. Considering the compex force situation, as well as the strong impact and vibration of the yaw bearing, blade ebaring, so the demands to bearing can withstand the impact, and can bear larger load, the mechanical properties of materials have very high requirements. We choose the material 42CrMo4v in making the ring, quenching and tempering adopting in heat treatment, ring hardness reaches 240-280 HB, raceway surface quenching, hardness at 55-62 HRC, all that ensures withstand the impact without plasic deformation occurs, increase the contact fatigue life, thus ensuring the use requirements of the bearing service life of 20 years.

                                       

Due to the impact work condition between pinion and bearing rings, the ring gear teeth surface must be quenched.In terms of low temperature ballistic work, should not less than 27 j by  - 20 Akv, also could be determined by the consultation with the user requirements. As to anti-corrosion treatment, because the wind turbine equipment work in the field, easy in getting atmospheric contamination, meanwhile, the high humidity environment also corrodes the and the yaw, become part of the blade bearing is exposed outside, will be affected by air pollution and high humidity environment may also be corrosive bearing substrate, so it is necessary to take surface anti-corrosion treatment of the exposed parts of the bearing and blades.

 

About the slewing bearing clearance, because of the blade bearing high impulse load and the strong shake from wind, it requires the negative clerance of the blade bearing, so in the case of vibration can reduce the bearing of fretting wear. On the selection of sealing strip, usually adopt imported brand, dedicated to wind power bearing, its main characteristic is low temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and good wear resistance, long service life.


 

Type selection of blade and yaw bearing

Blade and yaw bearings working condition: low-speed swing, vibration and shock, fretting wear and corrosion. It mainly bears axial force and overturning moment at work. Research finding, load distribution does not exactly match cosine rule when blade and yaw bearing bear overturning moment. Light load area where theoretical contact pressure is zero appears around overturning axis. The size of the light load area increases with the gap. To reduce or eliminate the light load area, ball bearing structure can achieve minus clearance by slight interference between ball and raceway, to make load distribution more uniform.

 

Common structures and characteristics of blade and yaw bearing as below:

I) single row four-point contact ball bearing costs less and has higher overall performance.

II) double  row four-point contact ball bearing with bigger torque capacity, longer service life, bigger loading capacity, smaller turning resistance, higher wear allowance, has low demand to mounting base. But its kinematic accuracy is lower.

Designing key points of blade and yaw bearing

 

 

 

I) In the bearing raceway design, we adopt logical radius of curvature coefficient and initial contact angle, that in favor of enhancing bearing anti-fretting wear ability, slow down channel micto fretting wear.

 

II) In bearing assembly, keep moderate amount of the raceway interference, in order to reduce or eliminate the fractional load work area of the bearing, making the load distribution more uniform and reduce the friction torque operation.

 

III) bearing ring reasonable conditioning core hardness, raceway surface hardness and the effective depth of hardening layer, can prevent the raceway surface crack and the sag, with higher resistance to crushing ability.

 

IV) Bearing sealing adopts double lip deformity special structure, which can prevent water or oil leakage and the invasion of the corrosives, and can deal with the effect from deformation of the bearing rings due to the load, or, large pressure from the bearing internal oil pressure.

 

V)Grease used in the bearing, under low tempreture condition, has the character of low torque, load resistance, abrasion resistance, anti-rust property, and long work life.

VI) Bearing surface treated thermal spraying zinc coating, and erosion resistant coating, increasing resisting ability.

All the factors, rigidity of installation foundation, end face planeness of erection support, and bolt pretightening force of mounting bolts, will all affect the service life of the SB. Operation & Maintanence

 

Suitable lubrication is necessary for durability of raceway and gear. Lubricating grease improves capability and service life of slewing bearing, while working condition, e.g. load, temperature, speed, and vibration, determines lubricant selection.   

Characteristics of recommended lubricant for slewing bearing:  

²  Lithium base grease

²  Minimum viscosity of base oil: 150 mm2/S

²  NLGI consistency grade: 2

²  Anti-friction and extreme pressure additive 

²  Working temperature: -300 Ca+1200 C

²  Four-ball test: Clinkering load STMD 2596 (NT24)>300

²  Maximum NDM value (revolving speed x raceway center diameter)

Lubricating grease compatibility table  

According to our experience, the lubricating greases listed in the following table are compatible with each other and with all parts of slewing bearing. Any other grease which is deemed compatible with any of the lubricating greases recommended by the Company is usable. However, molybdenum-containing disulphide MOSis strictly prohibited.

Removal of Common Faults

 

Difficult turning of slewing bearing

Every slewing bearing goes through strict inspection and test run before being released from plant, so all of them are acceptable products. As the slewing bearing has pre-tightening force on its sealing face and frictional force of the sealing face should be overcome for turning, it’s normal that certain starting moment is needed when it is turned.

In case of clamping stagnation in turning, the following method should be taken to remove the trouble:

Troubleshooting methods

Inflexible idling of new product

The slewing bearing has been stored for long time (e.g. over a half year) or the ambient temperature is low, which results in less liquidity of the grease inside, leading to inflexible operation. This case is prominent in cold regions and in winter.  

After force is exerted, if it works well without any abnormal sound, it can serve for normal serve, but new grease should be filled until it is oozed from the seal.

If operation is accompanied with any abnormal sound, check whether there is any damage caused during transport or storage and feedback the information to our after-sale service department for a solution.  

Inflexible  operation after installation

The mounting surface of the main machine does not match well with that of the slewing bearing, resulting in that after installation, axial clearance of the slewing bearing can’t compensate for deformation of the slewing bearing, raceway of the slewing bearing is distorted, and the roller moves with difficulty in raceway (sometimes with abnormal sound).

 

Rework mounting surface of the main machine to make it in compliance with the requirements; or treat the surface by filling in plastic or partial washer. If flatness is still unacceptable after completion of surface treatment, try to exchange for a slewing bearing with larger clearance.      

Bad gear engagement is caused by failure to adjust gear backlash according to radial top point of gear pitch circle (three teeth marked with green paint). Deformation is caused by compressing the slewing bearing at the top point, resulting in difficult turning or abnormal sound.  

Adjust gear and pinion engagement and gear backlash again as required. 

Impurities are jammed in the gear and pinion.  

Check and be sure that gear and pinion engagement is free of impurities. 

Inflexible operation in use

The sealing strip is broken, resulting in entry of impurities into raceway. 

 

Replace sealing strip or take effective sealing protection measures, e.g. installing guard plates.

Failure to lubricate it with sufficient grease periodically according to the maintenance requirement, resulting in abnormal wear and tear of raceway. 

Lubricate it with sufficient grease until grease is oozed out from the sealing strip. It’s noted that every oil cup should be oiled, and operation should be kept in oiling, if possible. If wear and tear is serious, the slewing bearing should be replaced. If you continue using it in short time, lubricate it with more amount of grease until grease overflows, so that the scrap iron is discharged as most as possible.  

Abnormal engagement between gear and pinion, with impurities or broken teeth 

Remove impurities (if any); replace the slewing bearing, if there is any broken tooth.
