Features of PVC pipe

1. UPVC is lightweight: UPVC specific gravity is only 1/10 of cast iron’s, which makes UPVC pipe easy in transportation & installation and reduces cost. 

2. Excellent chemical resistance: UPVC has good acid & alkali resistance, expect strong acid or strong oxidising agents at maximum, which is close to the saturation point.

3. Non-conducting: UPVC material is non-conducting, and also can not be eroded by electrolysis and electricity, so it needn’t the secondary process.

4. Aphlogistic and combustion-supporting, no fire concern, and low price. The pipes can be contected by UPVC glue. The practice proves coal mine UPVC pipe’s good performance of reliable, safe, easy to installation, durable, good weathering resistance, not easy to be rot by bacteria and fungus.

Applications of PVC Pipe:

          UPVC pipe can be used for water supply, drainage, gas drainage and exhaust air underground coal mine. UPVC pipes for gas drainage should be with pressure at least 0.6MPa pressure, otherwise the pipes will be deflated under vacuum condition (negative pressure). 

According to the related safety regulations, coal mine UPVC pipes are strictly prohibited for transporting any gas of more than 0.1MPa pressure.  In pressure test, coal mine UPVC pipe should do the hydraulic test, not pneumatic test.

Notes:

1. Antistatic UPVC pipe has many advantages, but its weakness is that the UPVC pipe’s strength is lower than steel pipe, so during the process of installation, loading and unloading, it must be protected from violent collision causing the damage or hidden crack of pipes and pipe fittings.

2. The color of anti-static UPVC pipe is black, when exposed in the sun, the sun side absorbs sun heat to make its temperature rise quickly and the back side’s temperature rises slowly. which causes the temperature different stress and makes the pipe bend. So it should be put inside door, or should be taken sunshade measures when placed outside.
