Wire Drawing Lubricant Powder
1 Introduction:
Wire drawing powder is the lubricant material which in the process of wire drawing. Its main component is chunam, water, animal oil, paraffin, soap, stearic acid, talcum powder and alkali. And its main role is forming a lubricant film between the drawing wire and dies to reduce thefriction and the energy consumption of wire drawing; to prevent wires from bonding with the die wall because of the heating, and reduce the energy consumption of wire drawing and temperature rise. So it can help to extend the working life of drawing dies, ensure the surface quality of the product, and make the deformation uniformity; another usage is according to the requirement of the metal wire products after drawing can meet some features of the subsequent processing. E.g. the residual lubricant film thickness, whether easy to clean, remove rust, and combining ability with other media, guide welding performance etc.
The dry type wire drawing lubricant we usually call it lubrication powder, wire drawing powder which is roughly divided into two categories: sodium soap and calcium soap. Sodium soap made by fatty acids and alkali saponification reaction, calcium soap is made up of fatty acids (oil) and white saponification. According to different wire drawing process, the customer need to choose different fat content of wire drawing powder to meet demand.In wire drawing lubricant, grease is in the raw materials for a large proportion, that is to say, wire drawing powder, the higher oil content, the higher the unit price
2 Performance:
1) it can be firmly adsorbed on the surface of steel wire and acess to wire drawing die with metal wire, effectively separate the two interface deformation area.
2) resistance to high pressure and high temperature. Under high pressure and temperature conditions, lubrication film can remain its continuity and lubricity and not be damaged. No coking, no caking and no degenerating, which has physical and chemical stability.
3) it has good extensibility and lubricity, which can not be only firmly adsorbed on the surface of steel wire, and can be extended in accordance with the steel wire deformation, lubricating film layer structure, each layer within the molecular binding force strong, molecular weak bonding force between the layers.
4) each component of lubricant will not react with the steel substrate, to influence the performance of steel wire compounds, or to the steel wire corrosion, and easy to clean.
5) wide use of special alloy steel wire is suitable for the high school low carbon steel wire, stainless steel wire and copper coated galvanized wire, welding wire drawing processing lubrication, etc.
6) Not polluting to the environment, harmless to human body, and rich in resources, low cost, and easy to save. Don't get wet in the rain under the condition of damp, can deposit 3 to 6 years
