During the print cycle a small downward pressure is applied to the transfer head to ensure a good seal between the wiper blades and the stencil. Pressure is then applied to the central piston and the material is forced directly downwards into the stencil apertures. As the unit moves across the stencil, the trailing wiper scoops up the material from the stencil surface and creates a rolling movement within the chamber. As material is consumed, the volume within the chamber is kept constant from the supply within the cassette/re-chargeable diaphragm. As a result, throughput times can be significantly reduced since the need to add material is diminished. Cycle times are also improved because the ProFlow unit does not lift from the stencil at the end of each print stroke.
