Iron powder self-response DORENCY oxygen absorber starts to absorb oxygen on contact with air.
The DORENCY oxygen absorber itself contains water and starts to absorb oxygen immediately on contact with air. The most appropriate type of DORENCY oxygen absorber depends on the amount of water in a food, the temperature and the speed of oxygen absorption .
Max time out of pack before use : up to 2 hours.

Function 1 : Prevention of mold
The DORENCY oxygen absorber prevents the propagation of aerobic bacteria, such as mold, which cannot live without oxygen. DORENCY oxygen absorber can absorb the small amount of oxygen which comes through the package film and can thus keep foods from getting moldy for a very long time
Function 2 : Prevention of oxidization of fat, vitamins etc.
When fat contained in foods is in contact with oxygen, it oxidizes and deteriorates. In the case of vitamins E and C in foods, this causes depletion in the strength of the vitamin or change in its quality. DORENCY oxygen absorber stops oxidization and maintain the quality of the food by protecting nutrients from deterioration.
Function 3: Prevention of changes in taste and color
Oxidization has an adverse effect on color and taste. DORENCY oxygen absorber prevents changes of pigment in foods and at the same time protects aromatic elements in foods such as coffee, tea and seaweed, keeping them tasty and fresh.
Function 4: Prevention of damage by pests
The DORENCY oxygen absorber eliminates pests but is safe to humans because it is not a toxic insecticide. It also works efficiently against eggs of pests.
We recommend customers to measure the effects of DORENCY oxygen absorbers in your own packaging experiments because different storage conditions and different kinds of food products may influence the results. |
Classification and Use
Different kinds of DORENCY oxygen absorbers have been designed to suit to a wide variety of food types and conditions.
Drency offers two main types of DORENCY oxygen absorbers : iron powder and organic. The organic type employs the oxidization of nonmetal compounds and in terms of its oxygen absorbing function, it is classified into “self-response”, which means it starts to react on contact with air, and “water dependent”, which means it starts to respond only after it detects moisture in the food.
