WHAT ARE COLD THERAPY AND HOT THERAPY?

Cold therapy decreases surface tissue temperature and causes vasoconstriction, which spreads to

adjacent areas helping to control and reduce swelling and pain.

Cold therapy   is recommended as a first aid treatment for minor injuries to reduce swelling and relieve pain.

Hot therapy   increases skin temperature and cause vasodilation. Increased blood flow relieves pain and

offers more protect to Patients. Periodic short duration heat treatments are frequently

recommended as follow-up therapy for injuries (after 48 hours) to increase blood supply to the

injured area, reduce discomfort and accelerate the healing process.
