The design of Jean Prouve's Wooden Standard Chair is very well thought out; he reinforced the parts of the structure that takes the most weight and strain whilst using fewer materials in those areas that don't. For example, the two back pipes that the back is fastened to and the back of the wooden seat sits on are considerably thicker and stronger than the front legs which take minimal strain when the user is sat comfortably in the chair. Our replica Jean Prouve wooden dining chair is similarly constructed; with the chair's purpose in mind. The front of the wooden seat, like the original chair's, is curved downwards at the front, a shape that reduces the strain on the thighs and makes for a more comfortable seat as well an ergonomic design. |
