What is TPU/ABS?
ABS resin generally refers to a mixture of polybutadiene styrene, acrylonitrile graft copolymer and the free copolymer of styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) is. Wherein, in the grafted polybutadiene rubber, styrene, acrylonitrile graft copolymers provides for polybutadiene rubber and SAN resins good compatibility interface, formation of a stable two-phase structure. For this purpose, a variety of different materials and ABS blends in order to obtain satisfactory performance, then a wide variety of ABS alloy came into being. ABS types currently reached dozens from binary to ternary and development, diversification direction. In addition, in recent years, global demand for ABS has maintained an annual growth rate of about 5%, and the Asia-Pacific region, especially in mainland China is mainly driven by consumption growth.
Advantage
ABS resins and other polymer blends are mostly Xiangrong fee system, and compatibility and TPU is very good. Blending may be performed in a single or twin screw extruder. Before blending to be dried at a temperature of 90 ~ 100 ºC 3 ~ 4h. The minimum requirement of the screw length to diameter ratio of 15: 1, compression ratio of 2.5: 1 or 3.5: 1.
TPU / ABS can significantly increase the resistance to stress cracking resistance, and can improve the stability of the cyanide, cyanogen and ultraviolet smell. ABS resin and from the side view, TPU component as toughness, can improve its impact resistance, abrasion resistance, moldability and low-temperature toughness, and rigidity, tensile strength and heat distortion temperature of the contents with TPu increase and decrease. Figure 2-1-17 and 2-1-18, respectively, are shown in Fig ABS / TPU composition ratio with impact strength and melt flow properties.
