Process description of the Pretreatment Plant
In the oil mill plant, before the extrusion of oil from oil containing materials, an oil pretreatment process is typically undertaken to improve the efficiency of production, to remove impurities from the oil material, and to ultimately save on costs. The entire oil milling process generally includes: cleaning, sieving, hulling, separation, cracking, particle making, frying, softening, flaking, drying, and expelling oil materials.
Process description of the Solvent Extraction Plant
Solvent extraction is a process to extract the oil from oil bearing materials by means of a solvent. A typical solvent used is hexane, a by-product of petroleum. The solvent extraction plant is designed to extract oil directly from oil seeds containing less than 20% oil, like soybeans, after flaking. Or it extracts oils from pre-pressed or fully pressed cake of seeds containing more than 20% oil like sunflowers, peanuts, cotton seed, palm kernels, canola, copra, castor and a variety of other materials.
Process description of the Oil Refining Plant
Edible/vegetable oil refining is a step by step process. Refining oil removes phospholipids, pigments, off-flavors, free fatty acids and other impurities. The entire oil refining plant process comprises degumming/neutralization, bleaching, deoderization, and winterization.
