Overview
PD3610 is an integrated handheld analyzer for PON deployment management, especially for the opening up and the maintenance. It provides testing/inspection/simulation functions for multiple layers of PON network deployment, from the physical layer to the PON link layer and the application layer. Furthermore, PD3610 provides several maintenance tools, such as web browser, network packet capture, FTP client as well as hyper terminal etc. These functions will help personnel in charge of PON network maintenance to achieve quick opening up and fault location.
Basic Functions
- Integrated handheld EPON analyzer which is compact and easy to carry;
- Built-in high-performance lithium-polymer battery with an operating time of up to 10 hours;
- Easy to operate--There are three test modes as optical link test mode, ONU simulation mode and application test mode on the operation interface. Maintainers can easily operate the device because user wizard and help
- information are provided for each mode.
- It offers a variety of application tools such as Notepad and Explorer, which allows to view, edit, copy and delete log files generated in the testing process;
- It provides a system management tool which can monitor the working status of the instrument, such as battery status, SD card status, system time and version information etc.
EPON Optical Link Test
- It can replace the optical power meter to measure the received optical power of PON optical link and locate the optical path failure.
- It can simulate ONU with various forms (such as SFU/MDU/HGU etc.) and various service capabilities (different port capability).

After being registered on the OLT, it can not only provide the basic EPON functions of the simulated ONU, but also realize the check-up and real-time display of the following items:It can be used to locate the failure of the physical layer, the MAC control layer and the OAM layer.
- Parameters and status of the physical layer;
- MPCP protocol status and parameters;
- 802.3ah OAM status and parameters;
- Extended OAM status and parameters
- It supports the Protocol Testing function. The interaction of management protocols can be achieved through the simulation of ONU and OLT.The standardization of the remote management protocols issued by the OLT can be checked, and the check result can be showed and the log file generates.
Network Performance Testing
- It offers a variety of network testing tools,such as WEB and FTP client to test the actual network traffic and shows the speed testing result. It can be used for the checking, testing and failure location of the network bandwidth provided by the EPON equipment.
- It supports the check-up of the connectivity of the PING testing and the remote network equipment, as well as provides routing table editing and query functions.
- It supports DHCP client and PPPOE client. IP address can be obtained via DHCP and PPPOE protocols, which can be used to test the support of EPON equipment to various broadband service access protocols.
- It provides a network packet capture tool to capture the protocol packet or service packet in the network and to save these packets on the extended memory card for subsequent analysis.
- It supports hyper terminal function, so that users can telnet to other network devices to perform some administrative operations.
