ntense Pulsed Light (IPL)
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a visible light of 560—1200nm wavelength selection. The effects on targeted skical, electromagnetic, photochemistry and physical stimulation. The work principle of IPL is to utilize its photothermolysis effect to treat skin lesions like pigmentation, benign vascular lesions and hirsutism. The basic principle of selective photothermolysis works through different absorbency of different targeted cells (including melanin, hemoglobin, collagen and water). In the range of 560—1200nm, the different wavelength light can select different targets to transform photo energy into heat
energy burning abnormal pigment cells till its expansion and burst. Then, the part of remains is absorbed locally; the rest of them is swallowed by phagocytes to excrete. The principle of treating vascular lesions is to heat and coagulate the hemoglobin making its endothelial cells swollen, in spasm, lack of nourishment supply, then dead. Gradually the vessel is shrunken and closed.
In addition, through "photochemical role" to activate fibroblasts and stimulate type I and III collagens,the collagen layer is grown to achieve the purpose of skin rejuvenation. Taking the advantage of the short pulse width and low energy density of IPL plus cooling function of the treatment handles, the effective treatment result is ensured and without normal tissues impaired
