How to fix your car scratches step by step?
Assessing the Damage
Generally, there are 4 layers, clear coat, color primer and body part. Feel the scratch with fingernail, if it is deeper, but no appearance of bare metal or plastic parts, it is medium scratch. If the metal or plastic parts appeared, it is deep scratch.
There is an oxide layer on the surface and it is smooth, the new paint cannot catch the surface strongly, if without sanding, the surface will become rough with potholes, the new paint will have a good adhesiveness.
