We use calcium carbonate for wine & beer making. However there are a ton of other uses for it. Google is a great resource to find out what other people have used it for.

I am painting an upholstered couch, the recipe I saw was - 1 cup paint 1/2 cup calcium 1/8 cup water. Is this correct for upholstery?

We use the calcium carbonate for winemaking. However there are a ton of recipes out there for using the carbonate in paint.
