In most cases, people see the light is mixed by different wavelength light, pure and only one wavelength of light is rare to see. Mixed shade has been identified to follow three main rules:
(1) Each shade has mixed with another shade to produce white or gray (no color) light perception, this two color is called mutual complementary. Such as red light and green light is mutually complementary color, yellow light and blue light is mutually complementary color, etc.
(2) If two colors are not mutually complementary, will produce a new color vision between two colors. Such as blue light and red light mixed will produce a purple color vision; red light mixed with yellow light produces orange color vision.
(3) a mixture of the other color light shade, the shade of the same pure spectrum, if they generate similar color vision, can replace each other to achieve the same visual effect.
The experimental device helps students understand this optical phenomena. Multicolored images on the turntable, to a certain speed of rotation, will produce colour tone mixing phenomenon.
