Progressive stamping for stator and rotor lamination is a stamping method that punches the strip material (cold-rolled electrical steel) in several stages before finally outputting the desired shape of stator/rotor lamination. Progressive stamping requires an automatic feeding system.
The feeding system pushes the strip through all stages of a progressive stamping die.
The final stage is a cutoff or output operation that separates the finished stator or rotor from the rest of the strip.
Progressive stamping for stator and rotor may be applied to loose sheets or auto-stacked motor core.
Stamping controller is required for auto-stacked motor core for defining number of strokes, shaft hole size selection and skewing/indexing parameters.
Progressive stamping dies are much more higher in price than compound dies. When production volume required is high, progressive stamping is preferred over compound stamping because it will save labor costs.

We have 15 sets of high precision slitting equipment. Our company also has advanced heat treatment equipment with the annual handling capacity of 600 sets and a full set of die processing equipment of Japan SODIC slow-feeding wire-cut machines.
Moreover, we have also purchased COORD3 coordinate measuring machines, image testers, iron loss testers and other high precision measuring instruments from Switzerland .
Our company can manufacture 600 sets of various silicon steel sheets and crushed products, with the annual heat treatment handling capacity of 600sets. We can develop, design and manufacture 600 pairs of standard or non-standard high-speed progressive dies.

Die building process
The die building process begins in our design department. Here one of our die designers utilizes the customer’s CAD files or prints to determine the best tool design. Often the preliminary design stage involves an engineering meeting where multiple die designers review the part prints and strip layouts. Our goal is to identify any potential issues with tolerances, difficult form issues, or maintenance issues early in the process. Recommendations may be made to improve efficiency and reduce costs in the production process.
After we are confident that we have achieved the most sound and practical die design possible, the design information is released for die manufacture. One toolmaker becomes responsible for coordinating the job through all processes, assembly, and die tryout. Cad data is sent to our cam area for processing. The cad/cam environment makes it possible for us to accurately track the entire die manufacture process and duplicate a component from archive data in the event that a problem should occur in the field.
