Super absorbent polymers introduction:
1.Super absorbent polymer are materials that own the ability to retain and absorb large volumes of water and queous solutions.
2.This make them ideal for use in water absorbing applications such as baby nappies and adults incontinence pads to absorbent medical dressings and controlled replease medium.
3.Early superabsorbents were made from chemically modified starch and cellulose and other polymers like poly, PEO all of which are hydrophilic and have a high affinity for water. When lightly cross linked, chemically or physically these polymers become water swelleable but not water soluble.
