Steel Pipe & Tube & Cast Iron Pipe,GB/T13295-2019、GB/T12772-2016、GB/T8492-2014、ISO2531、EN545、ASTM A999
Casting pipes (commonly known as cast iron pipes) are seamless metal pipes manufactured from cast iron/cast steel via centrifugal casting and continuous casting processes. They feature dense structure, uniform wall thickness, high pressure resistance and excellent durability, combining the wear stability of cast iron and the toughness of steel. Widely applied in municipal, industrial and construction pipeline projects. This complete specification covers material classification, standard models, full-size dimensional parameters, performance indicators, production processes and selection guidelines for commercial use.
I. Material Classification and Characteristics
1. Gray Cast Iron (National Standard: HT200/HT250)
Main grades: HT200, HT250, dedicated materials for ordinary casting pipes. With flake graphite structure, the material possesses good vibration damping, self-lubrication and corrosion resistance. It features high brittleness and low toughness, only suitable for low-pressure and non-impact working conditions.
Core Chemical Composition: C 3.0%–3.8%, Si 1.8%–2.5%, Mn 0.5%–1.0%, P≤0.3%, S≤0.1%
Material Performance: Tensile strength ≥140MPa, no elongation rate, maximum working pressure ≤0.3MPa
2. Ductile Iron (National Standard: QT450-10)
Core special material for pipeline production. After spheroidizing treatment, graphite presents a spherical structure, endowing the material with "hardness of iron and toughness of steel". It has outstanding impact resistance, settlement resistance and pressure resistance, serving as the primary material for municipal water supply, gas and water conservancy projects.
Core Chemical Composition: C 3.2%–4.0%, Si 2.0%–3.0%, Mn 0.3%–0.8%, P≤0.08%, S≤0.03%, Mg 0.03%–0.06%
Material Performance: Tensile strength ≥420MPa, elongation ≥10%, excellent toughness, fatigue resistance and foundation settlement resistance
3. Heat-Resistant and Wear-Resistant Alloy Cast Steel (ZG Series)
Common grades: ZG40Cr25Ni20, ZG30Ni35Cr15, ZGCr18Ni9. Designed for extreme industrial working conditions with high temperature, strong corrosion and severe abrasion, featuring excellent high-temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, creep resistance and wear resistance.
Material Performance: Tensile strength ≥550MPa, temperature resistance 800–1200℃, resistant to strong acid and alkali erosion
II. Product Model System (Full Range Standard Models)
1. Pressure Grade Models (Core Models for Ductile Iron Pipes)
Industry-standard K-series pressure models. Higher grades mean thicker wall thickness and stronger pressure resistance, serving as the core basis for engineering selection:
K7: Light-duty, for low-pressure municipal drainage, community water supply and conventional buried installation conditions
K8: Medium-duty, for ordinary urban water supply main pipes and farmland irrigation
K9: Heavy-duty, national standard preferred model, applicable for high-pressure water supply, river-crossing pipelines, deep burial and complex geological sections (first choice for engineering projects)
K10/K12: Extra heavy-duty, for high-pressure pump station pipelines, industrial pressure pipelines and heavy-load road laying
2. Interface Structure Models
T-type Interface: Universal flexible interface, fast installation for conventional municipal water supply pipelines
N1-type Interface: Anti-seismic flexible interface, suitable for old urban areas and geological settlement zones
X-type Interface: Special for large-diameter pipes with enhanced sealing performance
F-type Self-anchoring Interface: No buttress required, dedicated for long-distance water transmission and high water pressure pipelines
Flange Type: For high-pressure conditions, equipment connection and maintainable pipelines
A-type/B-type Rigid Interface: Special for gray cast iron pipes, applied in low-pressure building drainage and rainwater pipelines
3. Process Models
Water-cooled Metal Mold Centrifugal Cast Pipe (high-precision mainstream model)
Hot Mold Centrifugal Cast Pipe (special for large-diameter and high-temperature resistant pipelines)
Horizontal Continuous Cast Pipe (special for small and medium-diameter drainage pipelines)

2. Production Process (Centrifugal Ductile Iron Pipe)
1. Melting: Pig iron is melted by intermediate frequency electric furnace, with component adjustment and spheroidizing treatment. 2. Centrifugal Forming: Molten iron is injected into a high-speed rotating mold (water-cooled metal mold / hot mold), evenly attached and cooled to form pipes by centrifugal force. 3. Finishing: Pipe cutting, chamfering, socket processing and hydraulic pressure test (1.5 times working pressure, pressure holding ≥30s). 4. Anti-corrosion Treatment: Outer wall sprayed with zinc + epoxy asphalt/powder coating; inner wall lined with cement mortar / epoxy ceramic coating for enhanced durability.
3. Main Application Scenarios
Municipal Engineering: Ductile iron pipes for urban water supply, gas and heating main pipelines; gray cast iron pipes for community drainage and rainwater pipelines. Construction Engineering: Indoor and outdoor drainage, sewage pipelines and low-pressure fire sprinkler pipelines. Industrial Pipelines: Chemical acid-base transportation, metallurgical dust removal, power plant circulating water, petrochemical high-temperature pipelines (alloy pipes). Agriculture & Water Conservancy: Farmland irrigation, reservoir water diversion and pump station pressure pipelines.
4. Product Advantages
1. High Strength & Toughness: The strength of ductile iron pipes is 3–4 times that of gray cast iron pipes, with excellent impact resistance and settlement resistance, suitable for complex geological conditions. 2. Superior Corrosion Resistance: Multi-layer internal and external anti-corrosion coatings ensure a service life of 50–100 years underground, far exceeding plastic pipes and steel pipes. 3. Reliable Sealing: Flexible interface with rubber ring sealing, adapting to ±30mm radial displacement and 15° rotation angle, realizing anti-seismic and anti-leakage performance. 4. Convenient Installation: Socket-type connection without welding, improving construction efficiency and reducing engineering costs. 5. Environmental Protection & Safety: Non-toxic material, smooth inner wall without scaling and water pollution; vibration and noise reduction, suitable for residential areas.
5. Executive Standards
Domestic Standards: GB/T13295-2019 (Ductile Iron Pipes), GB/T12772-2016 (Gray Cast Iron Pipes), GB/T8492-2014 (Pipe Fittings). International Standards: ISO2531, EN545, ASTM A999.
6. Product Selection Guidelines
Low-pressure drainage & sewage: Select gray cast iron pipes (A/B-type interface) for cost performance. Municipal water supply & high-pressure pipelines: Select K9-grade ductile iron pipes (T-type/N1-type flexible interface) for safety and durability. High-temperature, corrosive & high-pressure industrial working conditions: Select alloy cast steel pipes for extreme condition adaptation.
V. Delivery Cycle
5–7 working days.
