Base Station Amplifier ISED IC ID Certification Service | Canada Market Access for Chinese Suppliers
1. Product Introduction
IC ID (officially named ISED Certification, formerly Industry Canada IC certification) is mandatory market access certification issued by Canada ISED ministry for base station RF power amplifiers imported and sold in Canadian territory. Base station amplifier belongs to Class I radio enhancement equipment, regulated under RSS-131 (Zone Enhancer Standard) + RSS-Gen general radio specification + ICES-003 EMC standard, covering 4G/5G macro base station power amplifier, outdoor rack-type RF booster, DAS distributed antenna system amplifier widely used in Canada communication infrastructure project bidding, industrial bulk procurement and Canadian Amazon industrial store listing.
Without valid IC ID registration number filed on ISED official database, base station amplifiers will be detained by Canada CBSA customs, blocked clearance, removed from e-commerce platform and prohibited from local telecom engineering installation; ISED carries out regular market spot inspection with heavy fines for non-compliant goods.
We provide one-stop IC ID full service for domestic amplifier manufacturers: pre-compliance pre-testing, formal darkroom RF+EMC testing, Canada local responsible agent application, full technical document compilation, TCB submission review, IC ID database filing, IC marking specification guidance and post-certification compliance follow-up. All test labs are ISED recognized, test reports fully acknowledged by Canada customs and local radio supervision department to help Chinese suppliers smoothly expand Canada telecom market.
2. Standard IC ID Test & Certification Process
Step1 Product Evaluation & Fixed Quotation
Confirm amplifier working frequency range, rated output power, indoor/outdoor installation type, licensed radio matching mode, lock applicable RSS-131 test clauses; check existing FCC/CE test data to reuse partial test result for cost saving, confirm fixed quotation without hidden extra fees.
Step2 Samples & Technical Document Submission
Manufacturer supply mass-production finished samples plus full English technical files: circuit schematic, PCB drawing, complete BOM, RF parameter datasheet, antenna specification, multi-angle product photos, English operation manual, pre-designed IC ID nameplate draft; non-Canadian enterprise needs to appoint official Canada local authorized representative for ISED system registration.
Step3 Pre-test & Parameter Optimization
Carry out pre-scan test for RF output power, frequency deviation, spurious emission, out-of-band stray radiation and EMC conduction/radiation interference; provide targeted component replacement or circuit rectification scheme for unqualified indexes before formal testing to avoid secondary retest delay.
Step4 Official Full Range Laboratory Testing
RF Test (per RSS-131/RSS-Gen): output power accuracy, occupied bandwidth, adjacent channel leakage, harmonic spurious, out-of-band interference, frequency stability, RF exposure assessment
EMC Test (per ICES-003): conducted emission, radiated emission, electrostatic discharge immunity test
Step5 Technical File Sorting & TCB Audit
Arrange formal lab test report + complete technical construction file, submit all materials to ISED authorized TCB body for document review, revise files per TCB feedback requirement timely.
Step6 IC ID Approval & ISED Database Listing
After TCB approval, exclusive IC ID number (format: XXXA-XXXXXX) is generated and synchronized into ISED official public inquiry database; deliver full certification document set, original test reports to clients.
Step7 After-sale Compliance Support
Offer permanent document filing service, IC logo printing specification guidance, technical consultation for customs inspection, platform audit and ISED random market supervision check.
3. Testing & Certification Cycle
Ordinary single-band indoor base station amplifier (standard service): 18~25 working days (pre-test+formal lab test+TCB audit+ISED filing)
Multi-band high-power outdoor rack amplifier: 28~38 working days (more RF test items, long darkroom measuring cycle)
Expedited rush service (complete docs + pre-test fully passed): 12~16 working days
Remark: Above period excludes sample inbound logistics time and product hardware rectification retest duration; repeated document revision will prolong certification schedule.
4. Sample Delivery Requirements
Sample Quantity
Conventional desktop/base station amplifier: 3 sets of mass-production finished products
High-power outdoor rack-mounted amplifier: 2 finished units + original factory matching power supply and connecting accessories
Sample Status
All samples must be consistent with bulk export production version: fixed PCB circuit, RF chip model, component specification and factory default firmware; prohibit arbitrary component replacement, circuit modification before testing, samples need to support fixed frequency calibration test mode for lab measurement.
Attached Auxiliary Materials
Product specification sheet, RF gain & power parameter table, core RF module certification, finished product front/side/back photos, IC ID marking layout draft.
5. Key Test & Compliance Precautions
Independent whole machine certification rule: Even internal core RF module has standalone IC ID certification, finished base station amplifier as independent sales product still requires full machine IC ID filing, module certificate cannot substitute finished equipment certification per RSS-131 regulation.
Strict stray emission limit: High-power base station amplifier out-of-band spurious over-limit is the primary cause of IC ID test failure; Canada ISED strictly restricts stray radiation to prevent interference with national public mobile communication, aviation and public security radio network.
Model binding rule: Single IC ID number only corresponds to fixed product model, frequency band, output power and hardware scheme; any upgrade on RF chip, peripheral matching circuit, firmware program or heat dissipation structure needs retest and dissipation structure needs retest and new IC ID application, original certification automatically invalid.
Mandatory Canada local agent: All Chinese manufacturers without Canada registered company must sign formal authorization with qualified local representative, agent information permanently recorded on ISED official database.
IC ID marking requirement: Certified amplifier must print permanent non-detachable IC ID mark on product body/nameplate following official size standard; irregular marking will trigger Canada customs cargo seizure.
Antenna management specification: If product matches replaceable external antenna with different gain values, every specification antenna needs supplementary RF testing; privately replacing high-gain antenna after delivery violates ISED regulatory clauses.
Document long-term preservation: Suppliers shall permanently archive full test reports, technical files and IC ID approval papers to cope with ISED official regular market spot audit and Canadian buyer factory inspection anytime.
