1. Product Introduction

FCC ID is mandatory compulsory certification issued by US FCC (Federal Communications Commission) for base station RF power amplifiers sold and imported into the United States, governed under 47CFR Part22(Cellular) / Part90(Private Land Mobile Radio) relevant standards. Base station amplifiers cover 4G/5G macro base station power amplifiers, outdoor repeater amplifiers, rack-mounted RF booster modules, widely used in US communication engineering bidding, cross-border e-commerce industrial procurement and wireless infrastructure construction from China to North America market.

FCC ID belongs to Certification approval mode, products must complete full RF performance + EMC laboratory testing, reviewed & filed by authorized TCB body, obtain exclusive unique FCC ID number recorded on official FCC database for public inquiry. Without valid FCC ID certification, goods will be detained by US customs, rejected clearance, removed from Amazon US, Thomasnet and US local industrial sourcing platforms, prohibited from field installation by US telecom regulators.

Our team provides one-stop full-set FCC ID service for domestic amplifier factories: pre-compliance pre-testing, formal darkroom RF & EMC testing, US agent filing service, Grantee Code assistance, full technical document sorting, TCB submission, FCC ID registration, label specification guidance and post-certification follow-up inspection support, all test reports from FCC recognized A2LA/NVLAP accredited labs, fully accepted by US customs and local communication regulatory authorities.

2. Standard FCC ID Test & Certification Process

Step1 Project Evaluation & Quotation Confirmation

Confirm amplifier working frequency band, rated output power, operating mode(indoor/outdoor), applicable FCC regulation clause(Part22/Part90), check existing module certification can be reused to cut test cost, lock fixed quotation with no hidden extra expense.

Step2 Documents & Samples Submission

Manufacturer deliver finished samples together with full technical materials: block diagram, PCB layout, full BOM list, RF parameter datasheet, antenna specification, English user manual, outer/inner product photos, pre-designed FCC ID label drawing. Non-US clients need US responsible agent information for FCC system registration.

Step3 Pre-test & Parameter Debugging

Lab carry out pre-test in RF darkroom, check output power, frequency stability, spurious emission, out-of-band radiation status; for non-compliant indicators, provide component replacement or circuit optimization advice before formal testing to avoid rework delay.

Step4 Formal Full Range Laboratory Testing

Core test items: RF conduction power, frequency tolerance, occupied bandwidth, adjacent channel spurious suppression, harmonic radiation, out-of-band stray emission; EMC conducted & radiated interference test; RF exposure evaluation per FCC relevant requirement.

Step5 Technical File Compilation & TCB Audit

Organize formal test report + full construction file, submit all materials to authorized TCB institute for official document review, correct document defects required by TCB within specified time.

Step6 FCC ID Approval & Database Listing

After TCB approval, FCC ID number is generated and synchronized into FCC official database; deliver original compliance file set, test reports and ID certification documents to clients.

Step7 Post-cert Compliance Technical Support

Provide permanent document archiving service, label printing guide, technical consultation for US customs spot-check, platform audit and local FCC market surveillance inspection.

3. Test & Certification Cycle

  • Standard regular base station amplifier (single frequency band, common power): 12~18 working days (including lab test + TCB audit + FCC filing)

  • Multi-band high-power outdoor rack amplifier: 18~25 working days (more test items & longer darkroom measuring time)

  • Expedited rush service (complete documents & pre-test passed): 7~10 working days

Note: Above cycle exclude sample delivery time and product rectification retest period; delayed if technical data repeatedly revised.

4. Testing Sample Requirements

Sample Quantity

  • Ordinary desktop/base station amplifier: 3 pcs mass-production finished units

  • High-power rack outdoor amplifier: 2 finished devices + matched original factory power supply & supporting connecting accessories

Sample Status

All samples shall be consistent with bulk export production version: unchanged PCB circuit, RF chip model, component specification, firmware program, internal matching circuit; forbid random component replacement, hardware modification before testing. Samples need to support fixed-frequency test mode for lab calibration measurement.

Auxiliary Materials

Product specification sheet, RF gain & power parameter table, core RF component certification, multi-angle product pictures, draft of FCC ID mark layout.

5. Important Testing & Compliance Notes

  1. Independent product certification rule: Even internal RF core module has separate FCC ID, finished base station amplifier sold as standalone product still needs full machine FCC ID certification, module certificate cannot replace finished device approval.

  2. Strict spectrum & stray control: Base station high-power amplifier out-of-band spurious over-limit is the top reason for FCC test failure; FCC strictly restricts stray radiation to prevent interference with US public communication network, aviation & public security radio frequency.

  3. Version binding specification: One FCC ID only corresponds to fixed model, frequency band, output power and hardware scheme; any upgrade on RF chip, peripheral matching circuit, firmware, heat dissipation structure requires retest and new FCC ID application, original ID invalid automatically.

  4. FCC ID label regulation: Approved product must print permanent non-removable FCC ID marking on product body/nameplate following official size requirement; irregular labeling will result in US customs cargo seizure.

  5. US mandatory agent rule: Chinese manufacturers without US local company must assign qualified US authorized agent for FCC filing, agent info will be recorded in FCC official database permanently.

  6. Document preservation: Suppliers need long-term store full test reports, TCF technical files, FCC ID approval document to respond FCC official random market inspection and US buyer factory audit anytime.

  7. Antenna limit: If product equipped with replaceable external antenna, different gain antennas need supplementary testing; unauthorized swap of high-gain antenna after sale violates FCC regulatory rules.
