ACSR CABLE OVERVIEW
Aluminum conductor steel reinforced (or ACSR) cable is a specific type of high-capacity, high-strength stranded cable typically used in overhead power lines. The outer strands of ACSR cable are aluminum. The center strand is of steel for the strength required to support the weight without stretching the aluminum due to its ductility.
Application
Construction:
1. Conductor: Compact aluminium 1350, class 2.
2. Insulation: Cross linked polyethylene XLPE.
3. Insulated neutral messenger: AAAC - All Alloy Aluminium 6201, XLPE insulated depends on the actual needs of customer.
Used primarily for overhead secondary distribution lines.
