Overview:
This unit is a DIN-rail mounted gateway that converts signals from a C-Bus network to a DMX-512-A output stream (one-way only).
It allows lighting group addresses on the C-Bus system (up to 12 group addresses) to be mapped to DMX slots, enabling C-Bus devices (switches, PIRs, scenes) to control DMX lighting/fixtures.
It is not a bi-directional gateway: i.e., DMX devices do not feed back into the C-Bus via this unit. Only C-Bus → DMX.
Key Features & Specifications:
Supports up to 12 C-Bus lighting group addresses mapped to DMX-512-A slots.
The output is a full 512-slot DMX512-A data stream (even if fewer slots are used) for compatibility.
Electrical isolation: 2500 V isolation between the C-Bus side and DMX side.
Mounting: DIN-rail, width ~4 modules.
Connectors: Two RJ-45 sockets for C-Bus (in parallel) and one terminal block (plus a 5-pin XLR via interface cable) for DMX.
Powered from the C-Bus network (no separate external power supply required).
Maximum DMX cable length: up to ~455 metres (when correctly terminated and daisy-chained) as per spec.
Operating temperature: 0 °C to 45 °C, humidity 10-95% non-condensing.
Applications:
Use in lighting control systems where you have a C-Bus building/home control network and you want to drive DMX controlled devices (LED colour lighting, moving fixtures, fibre-optic lighting, effects).
Ideal for setups where control logic (via C-Bus switches/scenes) needs to trigger DMX fixtures without requiring a full DMX controller.
Because it’s one-way, good when the DMX devices don’t have to report back status to C-Bus.
