CUI Inspection and Protection System
Our sensors are state-of-the-art moisture and corrosion (corrosivity) detection devices, specifically designed for monitoring critical infrastructure such as pipelines and industrial assets. These sensors are connected to an advanced node, which transmits the collected data to a centralized cloud-based data repository, enabling real-time, remote monitoring from anywhere in the world. This data can be accessed through a secure dashboard, where it can be analyzed for various applications, such as risk assessment, corrosion trend analysis, and predictive maintenance.
The design of the sensors is particularly innovative, as they utilize electromagnetic waves that are not affected by the typical complexities of industrial environments. These complexities might include obstacles like flanges, bends, and pipe supports, which are often present in industrial settings. By operating using electromagnetic signals that pass through such obstacles without interference, the sensors ensure continuous and reliable monitoring of asset conditions, regardless of the environment.
To further optimize the installation process and minimize maintenance costs, these sensors are mounted using flexible long-range cables. The sensors are permanently installed along the outer surface of pipes, typically beneath the insulation, offering a non-invasive solution that does not require additional scaffolding or shutdowns for inspection. This feature significantly reduces both installation time and operational downtime, making the system highly efficient for continuous monitoring.
Each sensor is comprised of two core components: a moisture sensor and a sacrificial corrosion sensor. The moisture sensor detects the presence of water, which is often a leading factor in corrosion formation. The sacrificial corrosion sensor is designed to monitor the corrosivity of the environment, providing crucial information about how aggressive the external conditions are on the asset. Together, these sensors offer a comprehensive view of both the moisture levels and the corrosion risks, providing early warnings of potential failures.
These sensors are connected to channels within the node, which facilitate the transmission and reception of signals. The node is highly versatile and can accommodate either one or both types of sensors, depending on the needs of the asset being monitored. Each sensor, when used alone, has the capability to cover up to 100 meters along the length of the asset. This long-range monitoring ability ensures that large sections of infrastructure can be continuously assessed for potential risks without the need for frequent sensor relocation or additional equipment.
Once the data is captured by the sensors, it is securely transmitted to the cloud. From there, the data is processed and analyzed using advanced algorithms, which provide valuable insights into the current state of the asset. The analysis includes various assessments such as risk evaluation, trending of moisture or corrosion levels, and predictive maintenance scheduling. These insights are then displayed in a user-friendly format on the system's dashboard, which can be accessed by engineers, operators, or asset managers. This allows decision-makers to quickly understand the condition of their infrastructure and take proactive actions before issues escalate into costly failures or unplanned downtimes.
Moreover, the cloud-based nature of the system enables scalability, making it easy to deploy the solution across a wide range of assets or geographic locations.
