Product Description
In the electric vehicle charging sector, AC luminous charging cable technology is reshaping the user experience through intelligent and visual design. This technology integrates LED neon strips or rare earth luminescent materials within the cable. Combined with a voltage control chip, it works in real-time with the vehicle's BMS (Battery Management System), providing dynamic lighting feedback on the charging status. For example, during charging, the cable emits a spiral light strip, whose brightness gradually changes as the charge progresses. Initially, it flashes blue to indicate connection, then turns to a steady green when fully charged, and flashes red to warn of a fault. This design not only overcomes the limitations of traditional charging stations that rely on display screens, but also significantly improves safety at night or in low-light environments, preventing the cable from being accidentally touched or run over. This product meets the needs of electric vehicle users charging at night, providing a clear light warning in dark environments for protection. Customization is also possible. Technically, the cable features a transparent TPU jacket and a gap-type polyester film wrapping structure, ensuring light transmittance while enhancing mechanical strength. The conductor core is covered with a TPE insulation layer, with an integrated reinforced filler core to resist bending damage. The TPU protective layer on the LED light strip can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to 125°C. Some solutions also incorporate a photoluminescent plastic or rare earth long-lasting luminescent layer, allowing the cable to continue luminous for 12 hours after a power outage, meeting emergency needs.
This technology can be applied in home charging stations, public charging stations, and other scenarios. For example, commercially available AC charging station cables support a wide power range of 3.5kW-22kW. Their luminous indicator function makes cable location clear during nighttime charging, significantly reducing the risk of misuse. As the technology matures, luminous cables will evolve from a "functional add-on" to a "safety standard," becoming a key component of the smart charging ecosystem and helping to elevate the EV charging experience towards a more user-friendly and intuitive experience.
