Certification Introduction
IRAM was established in 1935. It is a certification body for electronic technology products recognized by OAA (Argentina Accreditation Organization) and is also a certification body for compulsory certification products recognized by the government. IRAM Safety Mark is Argentina's mandatory (except for exempted products) certification mark

Applicable product range
The Argentine government passed two new resolutions 197/2004 and 198/2004. 197/2004 allows manufacturers and importers to choose different certification systems. The Argentine authorities revised the certification system and announced Resolution 197/2004 at the end of 2004, and implemented this plan. Resolution 197/2004 applies to the following products: electronic and electrical products, toys, and personal protective equipment.
Certification category
Applicants for electrical appliances can choose any of the following certification methods:

A Mark Certification

B Type Certification

C Batch Certification

198/2004 has mandatory certification requirements for some electrical and electronic products. Agreement 198/2004 stipulates that the following products are no longer included in the scope of mandatory certification:

- Products with a rated current greater than 63A

- Rated voltage less than 50V, using battery power

- Rated voltage less than 50V, with external power supply (including battery operation)

In addition, the following requirements must also be met:

- The power supply must have a valid Argentine certification

- The technical parameters of the adapter power supply or the model of the adapter power supply must be marked in the product manual

- The product manual must indicate that the use of non-specified power supplies is dangerous

However, products below 50V that still fall under the mandatory certification requirements include:

- Using 50V AC power Lighting and lighting supply systems on AC

-Dichroic lamps and lamp holders

-Handheld power tools

-Electric fence starters

-Electronic muscle stimulators for fitness

Application process

1. Fill in the application form

2. Issue a report based on IEC standards or IRAM standards

3. Provide proof of differences that meet the Argentine national standards, such as a difference report

4. Sample identification

5. List Argentina certified importers and exporters

6. Trademark registration

7. Register the company name in public commerce

8. Sign the procedural rules

9. Factory inspection report (once a year)

CB test report plus CB certificate, or IEC English version test report plus Argentina national requirements

Application form, importer's authorization, design drawings, specifications, circuit diagrams, product photos

Spanish safety warnings printed on the nameplate, Spanish user manual, German Rhine factory inspection report

Plug compliance with Argentina IRAM 2063/2073 standard certificate (if the plug does not meet the Argentine IRAM standard, the power plug specification and sample are required to be provided in addition)
