Chargers exported to the Middle East certification tips

Chargers exported to different countries in the Middle East have different certification requirements, the following are some of the main countries in the Middle East related certification:

1. Saudi Arabia:

- IECEE Certification (SIRC Certification): The full name is “International Electrotechnical Commission Organization for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrotechnical Products” certification. This is based on the Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) conformity certification scheme, mainly for products imported into Saudi Arabia. Chargers are under its control and need to meet the relevant standards and requirements of Saudi Arabia and pass the relevant tests and audits. To do so, you need to fill out an application form, provide information such as CB certificate and CB test report, as well as other supporting information such as product manuals, specifications and electrical schematics.

- Saber Certification: This is a new conformity certification assessment program for non-Saudi local companies (i.e. companies exporting to Saudi Arabia) in 2019 for product registration, issuance and obtaining of CoC certificates of conformity. Products need to be categorized into different risk categories based on high, medium and low risk categories, with different conformity testing procedures.

- GCC Certification (G-mark Certification): Also known as the Seven Gulf Countries Certification, GCC members include the seven countries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Yemen. Chargers belong to the 13 categories of electrical and electronic products with higher risk coverage, and are required to provide product IEC reports and EMC reports, submit the reports to the GSO organization, obtain a registration number, and put the GCC certification mark and registration number on the goods.

2. United Arab Emirates:

- ECAS Certification: Conformity Assessment Scheme in the UAE to ensure that products comply with the relevant technical regulations and standards of the UAE. ECAS certification may be required for chargers exported to the UAE, depending on the characteristics and category of the product.

- TRA Certification (for telecommunication products): If the charger has features such as wireless communication, it may also need to be certified by the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).

3. Kuwait:

- KUCAS Certification: Kuwait has its own certification requirements for imported products called the Kuwait Conformity Assessment Scheme (KUCAS). Chargers exported to Kuwait need to meet the standards and procedures of this certification program in order to obtain a certificate of certification.

4. Qatar:

- Qatar QC Certification: Qatar has its own quality control certification requirements. Chargers entering the Qatar market may need to undergo relevant testing and certification to ensure product quality and safety in accordance with local standards.
