Basic Construction
The hydraulic cylinder of a marine crane primarily comprises components such as the cylinder barrel, piston, piston rod, seals, and cylinder head. Among these, the cylinder barrel, cylinder head, and piston collectively form a sealed chamber that facilitates the movement of the piston. The piston rod, attached to the piston, converts the piston's motion into mechanical energy output. The seals ensure tightness between the cylinder barrel and piston rod, preventing hydraulic oil leakage.
Operating Principle
The operating principle of the crane's hydraulic cylinder hinges on the transmission and amplification of liquid pressure. When the pump forces hydraulic oil into the cylinder, pressure builds up inside the cylinder barrel, propelling the piston. The direction of the piston's movement is controlled by the control valve, enabling it to advance, retract, or stop. This piston movement further transfers hydraulic pressure to connecting rods and other components, thereby executing various crane movements.
