What are the functions of the epoxy coated on the rigid copper bus bars ?
The epoxy coating safeguards the electrical and mechanical integrity of rigid copper bus bars for demanding electrical applications and have the following functions
1.Electrical insulation - The epoxy coating provides electrical insulation between individual bus bars and prevents short circuits.
2.Corrosion protection - Epoxy coatings protect the copper bars from oxidation and corrosion, especially in outdoor or humid environments.
3.Mechanical protection - The coating protects the bars from physical damage during handling and installation. The epoxy layer helps prevent scratches, dents or other deformations to the bars.
4.Dielectric withstand - Epoxy has good dielectric properties and can withstand high voltages without breakdown. This allows higher voltage ratings for a given bus bar spacing and insulation thickness.
5.Noise damping - Epoxy coatings can dampen vibrations in bus bars, reducing audible noise in some applications.
