German Packaging Method VerpackG

Introducing VerpackG in Germany:

VerpackG is the German packaging law, replacing the previous German packaging regulation VerpackV. VerpackG is available to all manufacturers, importers, distributors and online retailers selling goods on the German market. All companies selling goods in Germany must prepare solutions to arrange packaging recycling after use to continue trading in the country. The new German packaging act VerpackG obliges manufacturers and sellers to register and obtain a license for the first sale of products containing packaging, including outer packaging, final retail packaging, disposable containers/containers used in the catering industry, and transport packaging materials, and must Declare the packaging material, type and weight for sale.

LUCID Management System:

• The law applies to all packaging. And through the central database, better management of manufacturers and waste disposal system companies, more transparency, physical and chemical requirements consistent with the old packaging regulations;

• Use the smallest possible packaging;

• It is recommended to mark the material abbreviation according to the packaging material, such as PET, PVC, PAP, ALU, FE, GL, TEX;

• The total amount of lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium should not exceed 100mg/kg.

Application Process:

1. Importers should register online in the LUCID database before entering the market;

2. After obtaining the registration number, the participating system company signs the contract;

3. Fill in the data signed with the system company into the LUCID central database;

4. Data check and comparison.

Register Information:

Documents required for VerpackG registration:

1. The name, address and contact information of the registered subject;

2. The representative's ID number, including the manufacturer's European or national tax number;

3. The brand name that participates in the packaging according to the mandatory system;

4. Announce that the manufacturer concerned is fulfilling its recycling duties and that the details provided are true.

Documents required for online registration with LUCID:

Information required for online registration in the LUCID central database:

• Importer's name, address and contact information (public)

• A natural person qualified as a representative/agent

• Manufacturer's identification number, or EU tax number

• Brand name (public)

• Statement of participating one or more system companies

• Statement of Accuracy of Information Submitted

Fill in the data signed by the system company into the LUCID central database, fill in the data:

• Registration Number

• Packaging material and weight

• System company name
