Overview

A pulse jet baghouse, also known as a baghouse, is a suction and filtration system. As dust-laden air is drawn into the system, the filter media collects the dust while clean air is discharged from the collector. The compressed air cleans the filter media in a reverse pulse. In the feed production process, these dust collectors mainly serve to remove small particles and large shells or collect dust for material purification.

Working Principle

Circular filter bags, 4" to 6" in diameter and up to 12 feet in length, are suspended vertically inside the housing. A circular wire cage prevents the bag from collapsing as air enters from the outside. Clean air enters the clean air chamber from the top of the bag and then enters a fan.

During the cleaning process, pulses of high-pressure air are directed into the bag (in the reverse flow direction), causing the bag to expand, resulting in fabric deflection and high inertial forces that separate the dust from the bag. The dust falls into the hopper, which is then emptied with a rotating airlock.

Applications

The high pressure pulse baghouse is used to filter raw material dust entering the plant, for conveying and mixing raw materials, and for the final packaging of finished products leaving the plant. It is widely used for dust control in feeders, grinding equipment, elevators and bagging machines in the grain and feed industries. It can also be used in the light industry, chemical industry and mining industry.
