CE marking to plasterboards– Introduction
In the EU market, the "CE" mark is a mandatory certification mark to indicate that the product complies with the basic requirements of the EU New Method for Technical Coordination and Standardization. This is a mandatory requirement of EU laws on products.
The CE mark on the plasterboards can not only prove that its products comply with the safety, environmental protection, health and consumer protection specified in the Construction Products Directive (CPR 305/2011/EU) and its related standards (European harmonized standard EN 520). In addition, it can reasonably avoid technical barriers to trade, sell freely in the European market and open other international markets.
Note: The Construction Product Directive (CPD) 106/89/EEC replaces the Construction Product Directive (CPD).And it will be mandatory from July 1, 2013

EN 520Gypsum plasterboards——Definitions, requirements and test methods
If you want to obtain the Gypsum plasterboards CE certification, you need to comply with the product directive: Construction Product Regulation 305/2011/EU, and the European harmonized standard: EN 520
CE marking to plasterboards-EN 520- scope
This document specifies the characteristics and performance of gypsum plasterboards intended to be used in building construction works induding those intended for secondary manufacturing operations. t includes board sdesigned to receive either direct surface decoration or gypsum plaster.
This document covers the following product performance characteristics: reaction to fire, water vapour permeability, flexural strength (breaking load), impact resistance and thermal resistance.
The following performance characteristics are linked to systems assembled with plasterboards: shear strength, fire resistance, impact resistance , direct airbome sound insulation and acoustic absorption to be measured according to the corresponding European test methods. If required, tests should be done on assembled systems simulating the end use conditions.
This document covers also additional technical characteristics that are of importance for the use and acceptance of the product by the Construction Industry and the reference tests for these characteristics.
lt provides for the evaluation of conformity of the product to this document.
This document does not cover plasterboards, which have been subject to any secondary manufacturing operations(e.g. insulating composite panels, plasterboards with thin lamination, etc.).
CE certification process of plasterboards
1. Determine the type of products to be certified and submit the application
2. Confirm the European Product Directive, plasterboards must comply with the new EU building Products regulation CPR 305/2011/EU
3. Determine the European harmonized standard, mineral wool must comply with harmonized standard EN 520
4. according to the CPR directive and harmonized standard EN 520 for the evaluation of the test, the European Union certification body in accordance with the certification system 3 test certification
5. Obtain the report or/and certificate awarded by EU Notified Body
6. Sign the DOP document "Declaration of Performance"
7. Affix "CE Mark" on the product
8. Trade in European market freely
