MYY E.max Crowns

E.max crowns are called cast ceramic teeth, also known as all-ceramic restoration.   It is made of a new ceramic material that can be cast.   It is superior to PFM teeth in appearance and biological properties.   The inner crown of E.max is porcelain, a transparent skeleton with no metal base layer.

E.max Crowns

E.max is the most natural-looking.  However, an E.max crown is not as strong as a zirconia crown.  So It is suitable for individual crowns, or for a 2-unit splinted crowns.  In order to function well, and E.max crown should be at least 0.7 mm thick.  Therefore, dentists have to grind more of the patient’s natural teeth.

Zirconia Crowns and Bridges

A zirconia crown might not be as natural looking as an E.max one, but much stronger.  It is highly suitable for a long bridge and for front and back teeth.  With zirconia, dentists do not need to grind too much of the patients’ natural teeth.  In fact, we can make very natural looking zirconia cases – craftsmanship can make a difference.
