In order to meet the increasingly stringent requirements of transportation and civil aviation, engine technology will be more used for light and medium gas turbines, as well as multipurpose diesel and natural gas powered vehicles. In addition, the use of multipurpose diesel aircraft on civil transport aircraft also requires the use of gas turbine units with larger capacity and lighter weight. To meet this demand, GE GE has developed a new turbine module - GE Gas Turbine Turbine Module. The modular structure can provide customers with high-density and small size components to meet more requirements, efficiency and flexibility requirements. The modular structure has the ability of being light enough and high density, so more weight can be reduced; At the same time, the structure size and weight can be reduced by 40%~50%, thus reducing the design, manufacturing and maintenance costs of gas turbine units. In order to simplify unit design and reduce downtime, GE R&D personnel in the United States designed a new turbine module (MFE) and used modular technology to provide more flexibility and compactness than similar products. It reduces the size of the existing turbine module from 870 mm to 610 mm, and after the reduction, it can also be reduced to 780 mm; It can also provide a compact turbine module size and the same efficiency, reliability, noise level and lower maintenance costs as similar products. Therefore, the new turbine module can provide larger capacity and lighter component volume for future projects and maintain relatively low cost characteristics.All turbine modules adopt modular design strategy. GE's advanced modular design provides more options for installation. The production and processing costs and on-site installation time can be reduced by half, and the installation/maintenance time can be reduced by 50%. For units with higher operating temperature and lower ambient temperature, GE's advanced modular structure can maintain high power performance and good structural stiffness. On this basis, the operating life of the turbine module is extended by more than 50%. At present, about 70% of the world's commercial gas turbines are targeted at high-power models.
